Before you fire up the oven for the Thanksgiving Turkey

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

So yes, it's true my family says I worry a lot. It's not about being a worry wort, it's about safety and there isn't anything wrong with erring on the side of caution. So, before you fire up that new range oven for the Thanksgiving turkey, if you have purchased a new Electrolux ICON or Kenmore PRO Gas Range between August 2008 through October 2009 double check your model # to see if yours is on the voluntary recall list.

Click this link to be directed to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for the details.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission report states Electrolux has received four reports of incidents involving carbon monoxide being released from the recalled gas range. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the range's oven and contact Electrolux for the Electrolux ICON or Sears for the Kenmore PRO to schedule a free repair. Consumers can continue to use the cooktop (top burners) and the broiler as well as any clock and/or timer functions.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
